Ascension Chamber Members Enjoy a Day on the Greens at Golf Ascension 2015
On Monday, October 5, 2015, the Ascension Chamber hosted their annual Golf Ascension Tournament. Everyone enjoyed a beautiful day of golf benefiting a great cause—Leadership Ascension! Such a successful event can only be attributed to the wonderful sponsors, volunteers, participants and committee members that consistently work together to help the Chamber grow and prosper.
The Chamber would first like to thank the Tournament’s Corporate Sponsors for their donations and participation in the tournament: Action Therapy & Wellness, Air Products & Chemicals, Inc., BASF, EATEL, Lofton Staffing & Security Services, Skid Marks Tire & Auto Care and St. Elizabeth Hospital/St. Elizabeth Physicians. Each year the tournament’s corporate sponsors not only help fund the event, but also get involved by sponsoring teams, putting up tents on the course and offering great door prizes.
There were many additional sponsors who made this tournament such a success. Potash Corp was the Gift Sponsor and provided windbreakers for all of the golfers and volunteers. Team Honda sponsored a Hole In One Contest for the chance to win a new car. Food and Drink Sponsors for the day were CarliCo Cafe who provided lunch, Don’s Seafood who provided dinner and Baton Rouge Coca Cola. Beverage cart sponsors were Regal Construction and Waguespack & Associates Insurance. In addition, Cox Communications sponsored this year’s “Take It Easy in the Big Easy” Raffle and served cracklins’ at their tent in front of the ClubHouse.
Contributing to the many activities throughout the tournament were United Community Bank sponsoring the Longest Drive contest and State Farm Insurance-Adam McCarty sponsoring the Closest-to-the-Hole Contest. On the course, hot jambalaya was provided courtesy of GSA Consulting Engineers. In addition, numerous tent sponsors provided wonderful drinks and treats for the golfers throughout the course. These tent sponsors were Domain Architecture, Express Employment Professionals, Mike Anderson’s, NOLA Lending, and Red River Bank. We would also like to give a big thanks to St. Michel Day Spa for providing complimentary chair massages for the golfers and Alana International Travel for securing the “Take It Easy in the Big Easy” Raffle Package.
Although all of the players did a great job on the greens, a few teams and players earned awards as the top in the tournament. The 1st Place Gross Prize was awarded to Bret Hughes, Brad Hughes, Jada Mayon and Scott Duplechein of Hughes Insurance. Earning the 1st Place Net Prize was The Bug Man’s Team. Second Place Net was awarded to Team EATEL. 3rdPlace Net was awarded to Team Regions Bank.
The Chamber would also like to thank all hole sponsors, door prize donors, Pelican Point Golf Club and this year’s Golf Ascension Committee. Scott Banker, EATEL, and Jobie Templet, Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. co-chair the committee. Additional committee members include: Bridget Hanna, Ascension Clerk of Court; Amy Hathorn-Lambert, Neighbors Federal Credit Union; Rae Milano, Lofton Staffing & Security Services, Glenda Shaheen, GSA Consulting Engineers and Phillip Wright, Pelican Point Golf Club.
