The Ascension Chamber of Commerce hosted its 8th Annual Women in Business Event on May 15 at the Price LeBlanc PACE Center in Gonzales. With the largest attendance to date, this event, presented by Our Lady of the Lake Ascension, served as a beautiful showcase of the powerful women of Ascension Parish, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds and industries to celebrate their achievements and foster meaningful connections.
A highlight of this year’s festivities was the introduction of the EmPOWER Hour, a dynamic segment featuring five influential speakers who captivated and inspired attendees in just 10 minutes each. These speakers shared their insights, experiences, and their expertise fostering a spirit of empowerment among all present. Caprice Cline, Co-Owner of Cypress Roofing, set the tone for the event with her poise and wit as she presented the stellar lineup of speakers that included: Jackie McCreary with CF Industries, Greta Fleming Gordon with BASF, Jackie Baumann with the City of Gonzales, Kayla Fuselier Clouatre with Minutia Organizing and Productivity Consulting, and Dr. Tracee Short, MD FABA.
Jackie McCreary, Community Relations Manager for CF Industries’ Donaldsonville Complex, was honored with the 2024 Women in Leadership Award for her outstanding dedication and impactful contributions to the Ascension Parish community through her proactive involvement, mentorship, and support of local organizations and individuals.
The seated program and luncheon catered by Parc 73 also featured a social hour, a hat contest, and a donation drive benefitting Life House Women. During the Social Hour, attendees had the opportunity to network and enjoy a bubbly bar, photo booths, 360 photos, and shopping with local vendors. Attendees knocked it out of the park with beauty and creativity in their headwear. The crowd favorites were Danielle Guadamud with Gallagher (Individual Winner) and Euphoria Luxe Lifestyles Gift & Décor (Group Winner).
