Governmental Affairs & Advocacy Network

The Ascension Chamber’s Government & Community Development Committee—also known as the Government Affairs and Advocacy Network (GAAN)—is dedicated to ensuring that Ascension Parish remains a thriving place to live, work, and do business. 

Our mission is to advocate for sound public policies at every level of government that promote a strong business climate, encourage responsible growth, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents and businesses alike.

Our goal is to be a driving force for proactive advocacy and community advancement, ensuring that Ascension Parish remains a premier destination for business investment and family living. 

GAAN serves as the voice of Ascension’s business community, working with local, state, and federal officials to shape policies that support economic vitality and reduce barriers to business success.

The committee collaborates closely with the Ascension Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) and other regional partners to foster a sustainable economic environment that supports both existing businesses and those considering relocation to Ascension Parish.

GAAN actively tracks legislation, ordinances, and regulatory issues impacting the parish to ensure members stay informed and engaged on matters that influence their business and community.

Through forums, roundtables, and networking events, the Chamber connects members with policymakers, encouraging open dialogue and collaboration between business leaders and government officials.
